High-power sine wave inverter

Release time:2026-07-07views:4

High-power sine wave inverter (for forklift DC batteries, high-power model 3kW - 30kW)

I. Application scenarios (corresponding to your entire set of forklift accessories)

Electric forklifts with 24V/48V/80V DC batteries, converted into single-phase 220V / three-phase 380V high-power AC electricity, used for temporary large-power equipment in construction sites and factory areas: air compressors, three-phase welders, water pumps, small machines, heavy-duty motors;

Complement: Digital voltmeter, Anderson high-current connector, intelligent forklift charger for combined use.

II. Classification of high-power models

1. High-power single-phase sine wave (3kW - 12kW)

Output AC220V, suitable for multiple large-power single-phase devices, welders, heaters;

2. High-power three-phase sine wave (5kW - 30kW)

Three-phase four-wire 380V, equipped with three-phase motors, air compressors, industrial equipment, mainstream in industry;

3. Industrial frequency high-power inverter (preferred for heavy loads)

Built-in industrial frequency isolation transformer, resistant to shock and short circuits, less prone to protection for motor startup, welder impact, suitable for forklifts with bumpy movement and voltage fluctuations;

4. High-frequency high-power inverter (lighter in size)

Same power, lighter in size, suitable for forklifts with limited space installation, less stable load impact compared to industrial frequency.

III. Voltage input of forklift DC and power compatibility

1) DC24V system (1.5 - 2 ton forklifts)

Maximum recommended power: ≤ 6kW

Current reference: 6kW full-load DC current ≈ 250A, must be equipped with SB350A Anderson connector, ≥ 25mm² copper wire

2) DC48V system (2 - 3 ton forklifts, optimal for high power)

Common power: 5kW - 15kW

10kW full-load DC current ≈ 208A, standard SB350A plug, cable ≥ 16mm²

3) DC80V lithium battery heavy-duty forklift

High-power 10kW - 30kW, smaller DC current, lower line loss, suitable for long-term heavy load

IV. Core features (unique to high-power models)

3 times peak overload

The motors and welding machines experience significant shock upon startup. Ordinary small inverters provide basic protection. However, the high-power industrial frequency models can withstand 10-20 seconds of 3 times the rated power.

Total isolation protection

The input DC and output AC are electrically isolated from each other. In case of leakage from the battery, it will not spread to the 220/380V side. This makes the workshop operation safer.

Multiple-level protection system

Under-voltage, over-voltage, over-current, output short circuit, over-temperature, phase missing, reverse connection; High-power models come with an external DC fuse.

Dual-display panel

At the same time, it displays the DC battery voltage (in comparison with the digital voltage meter of the forklift), the AC output voltage, the real-time power, and the fault codes.

Wide DC input

It can adapt to the significant voltage drop during the operation and lifting of the forklift, and will not easily shut down.

Dust-proof and shock-proof enclosure

Suitable for use in forklifts operating in dusty and vibrating environments, it can be fixed and installed on the vehicle.

V. Complete Set of Accessories (High-power Required)

Battery Monitoring: DC wide-range voltage display meter, showing real-time battery voltage drop

DC connector: High-power SB350A Anderson connector (eliminates overheating and voltage drop)

Cables: The thickness is increased according to the power. For long-distance use, thicker copper wires need to be upgraded.

Charging equipment: Voltage-compatible intelligent forklift charger, providing supplementary power after inverter operation

Optional accessories: DC circuit breaker, shunt resistor, external bracket for cooling fan

VI. Key Selection Rules

For motor / welding machine type loads: Select based on rated power multiplied by 1.8 to 2 times, with allowance for startup surges;

Long-term full-load with priority for power frequency isolation model;

For 48V forklifts, it is recommended to choose them first. Compared with 24V, the current of the same power is half of that, and the cost of cables and connectors is lower, and the heat generation is also smaller.

Lead-acid batteries are not recommended for continuous operation above 10kW for an extended period. They have a rapid depletion rate and require frequent charging. Lithium batteries, on the other hand, support long-term high-power output.

VII. Common Faults of High Power (for Forklift Operation)

When starting with heavy load, the voltage drops sharply and the inverter stops operating due to protection.

Reason: The cable is too thin, and the terminals of the Anderson connector have oxidized and not been properly crimped.

The plug is extremely hot.

The power is too high and the current exceeds the rated value of the connector. Replace the SB350A with a larger connector.

The motor is shaking and making a lot of noise.

When purchasing the modified sine wave model, high-power heavy-load applications must use pure sine wave power frequency.

Frequent high-temperature alarms

The inverter is installed in a sealed manner, resulting in poor heat dissipation. An external ventilation system is required.

VIII. Illustrating a complete solution example (48V forklift with 10kW three-phase high-power inverter)

DC input: 48V lead-acid battery

Inverter: 10kW three-phase industrial frequency pure sine wave

Connector: SB350A Anderson plug

DC cable: 25 square copper cable

Monitoring: DC30–60V Digital Voltage Meter

Charging: 48V high-power intelligent charger
