I. What is the forklift intelligent charger
Compared to the old-style transformer chargers, this one has a built-in microcontroller that continuously monitors voltage, current, and battery temperature, automatically segments charging, stops charging when fully charged, and provides multiple protections. It is compatible with electric forklifts with 24V/48V/80V lead-acid / lithium iron phosphate batteries. When paired with the on-board digital voltmeter, it can provide a clear and continuous monitoring of the charging status.
II. Two types: Lead-acid dedicated / Lithium-ion dedicated (strictly prohibit mixing)
1. Lead-acid battery intelligent charger (mainstream for old-style forklifts in warehouses)
It adopts a three-stage intelligent charging curve and automatically switches, requiring no manual supervision:
Constant current fast charging (red light)
When the battery is low on power, it is charged with a constant high current, quickly reaching 80% of its capacity, and the voltage keeps rising; the upper limit for 24V lead-acid batteries is 28.8V, and for 48V batteries it is 55.2V.
Constant voltage equalization charging (red and green lights alternate)
When the pressure reaches the full-pressure level, the voltage will lock in. The current will gradually decrease, replenishing the remaining 20% of the battery's capacity to prevent the battery from swelling due to water loss.
Float charging maintenance (green light remains on constantly)
When the current drops below the threshold, the system automatically switches to a low-voltage float charging mode to compensate for the battery's self-discharge. This allows the battery to be plugged in for a long time without any damage.
24V lead-acid standard voltage
Full charge: 28.8V, float charge: 27.6V; below 21V indicates a low charge state. When charging, the voltage meter stabilizes at 28.8V, approaching full charge.
2. Lithium iron phosphate intelligent charger (new type lithium battery for forklifts)
Lithium battery does not have float charge. It uses a CC-CV two-stage method and must be matched with the battery BMS for communication:
Constant current fast charge → Constant voltage with limited current → When the current reaches the standard, completely cut off power supply, no float charge;
24V lithium-iron battery fully charged is 29.2V, and 48V lithium-iron battery is 58.4V.
It is strictly prohibited to use lead-acid chargers to charge lithium batteries. Doing so may cause overcharging, resulting in fire and the destruction of the batteries.
III. Core intelligent functions (not available in the old-style chargers)
Automatic battery voltage detection
Universal model is compatible with 24/48V. It automatically detects the battery voltage when plugged in and will not charge incorrectly.
Multiple security protections
Overvoltage, overcurrent, overheating, short circuit, reverse connection, phase loss, battery aging warning; automatically reduce power and shut down when temperature is too high.
Digital display screen
Real-time display of charging voltage, current, capacity, temperature, and the corresponding data is compared with that of the forklift digital voltmeter.
Temperature compensation
In summer, the charging voltage is automatically reduced; in winter, it is slightly increased. This is done to prevent water loss due to high temperatures and to ensure that the battery is fully charged in low temperatures.
Make an appointment for charging with grid electricity
Support charging at fixed nighttime off-peak electricity rates to reduce the electricity cost of the factory.
Fault self-check
Check for single-cell damage, loose connections, battery sulfation, and display error alerts for maintenance.
High-end Internet of Things
Connect the phone via WiFi or Bluetooth, and remotely view charging records, battery health, and fleet power statistics.

Current matching principle
Charging current is selected based on the battery capacity (0.1C for example: 400Ah battery selects 40A charger). Fast charging can be selected at 0.15C. It is not recommended to exceed 0.2C as it can damage the battery.
